This two-year diploma program trains students in narrative filmmaking, covering script development, production planning, directing, cinematography, lighting, sound, and editing. Instruction combines studio-based production work with project-based learning, including work on film sets and collaboration on larger productions. The 66-credit, 20-course curriculum spans four semesters and includes an optional paid work term between the first and second year. Graduates of SAIT's Digital Media Production certificate can enter directly into year two, completing one additional year to earn the diploma. The program prepares students for roles such as digital producer, video editor, production assistant, camera operator, and grip or gaffer, working with production companies, independent films, streaming platforms, or as freelancers. It is delivered in person at the Main Campus. International applicants are accepted, though the program does not currently meet Post-Graduation Work Permit eligibility criteria.
