Overview
The Innovation and Value Creation Graduate Certificate at Simon Fraser University's Beedie School of Business teaches frameworks and practical skills for designing new products, services, processes, and business models. The program addresses how organizations respond to accelerating market change, evolving customer demands, and new technologies by re-imagining their offerings and operating models. Students complete a minimum of 12 units, including two required courses, Innovation and Entrepreneurship (BUS 714) and New Venture Creation: From Concept to Scale (BUS 578), plus six units chosen from electives such as Product Management, Responsible Innovation, Platform Power, Strategic Consulting and Advising, and Innovation and Change Management. Coursework covers topics including the business model canvas, product-market fit, venture funding and capitalization, digital platform strategy, and organizational change management. The certificate is delivered through in-person classes at the Beedie School's Vancouver and Segal (Burnaby) locations. Students are expected to complete the program requirements within three terms.
