This 90-credit Bachelor of Science in Biology offers a flexible, personalizable curriculum covering the study of living organisms from the cellular to the whole-organism level. Students can orient their studies toward molecular biology, ecology, or microbiology, while the program more broadly explores biochemistry, plant biology, bioinformatics, ecology, microbiology, genetics, genetic engineering, physiology, zoology, immunology, and virology. Coursework builds a theoretical and practical foundation in biology and statistics, develops knowledge of the diversity of structures, functions, reactions, and behaviours across living systems, and trains students to observe plant, animal, and microbial life for analysis. Graduates gain professional, ethically grounded scientific skills, the ability to apply knowledge creatively to concrete biological problems, and habits of teamwork and continuing education. Full-time or part-time study is offered under a regular or co-op (stage-integrated) regime, with admission in the fall and winter terms on the Sherbrooke campus. The program offers an integrated bachelor's-to-master's pathway into the Master's in Biology, in either its research or applied omics sciences coursework stream, subject to eligibility.
