This thesis-based master's program (Maitre es sciences) in cell biology comprises 45 credits, delivered full-time on the Sante Sherbrooke campus, with fall, winter and summer admission. It includes an integrated pathway from the bachelor's programs in pharmacology and in health biochemistry. Students deepen their knowledge of cell biology, are introduced to research, and acquire a research method by developing a research project under the supervision of a thesis director. The program builds rigour and critical thinking through the analysis and writing of scientific texts, develops a capacity for synthesis and intellectual curiosity suited to a fast-evolving research field, and strengthens the ability to communicate research results. The required core (35 credits) covers an advanced cell biology course, a research seminar, the thesis (memoire) and research activities; 2 to 10 elective credits are chosen from topics such as gastrointestinal cytophysiology, membrane physiopathology, cancer cell and molecular biology, intracellular signalling, and proteomics data analysis.
