This program awards a Bachelor in Education, specializing in career counselling, through a 90-credit, full-time curriculum completed over three years at the University of Sherbrooke's main campus, with regular-plan admission in the fall and winter terms and cooperative-plan admission in the fall term only. The curriculum covers career-counselling foundations, human development, learning processes, group facilitation, psychometric assessment of aptitudes, job-search and training-search support, professional ethics, and statistics, moving into more advanced practicum-oriented coursework built on the first-year foundation. The program can be completed under a regular study plan or, for a limited number of students who have passed the first two terms' compulsory courses, a cooperative plan that alternates academic terms with paid work terms. It prepares graduates to work as career counsellors, supporting people with educational, occupational, and career-transition decisions throughout their working lives.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Admission follows Universite de Sherbrooke's general first-cycle admission condition set out in the Reglement des etudes. All candidates must show a very good knowledge of French, either through an exemption or by reaching CEFR level B2 (score of at least 400 out of 699) across the four fundamental competencies. Access to the cooperative plan, subject to internship availability, requires having passed all compulsory courses in the program's first two terms.
