This program awards a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology through a 90-credit, full-time curriculum completed over three years at the University of Sherbrooke's main campus, with admission in the fall and winter terms. The curriculum builds from foundational cellular and molecular biology, general and solution chemistry, and mathematics into microbiology-specific coursework covering bacteriology, virology, immunology, and laboratory techniques in cellular and molecular biology. Students may complete the degree under a regular study plan or a cooperative plan that alternates academic terms with paid work terms, subject to internship availability, and DEC-to-bachelor's bridging arrangements exist for holders of a college diploma in laboratory techniques - biotechnology. The program is designed to develop laboratory competencies in microbial and cellular biology alongside a broad science foundation, preparing graduates for further study or work in research, clinical, and industrial microbiology settings.
