Overview
This program awards a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and is offered in two pathways at the University of Sherbrooke's Campus de la sante in Sherbrooke and at the Longueuil campus, with admission each autumn. The curriculum develops competency in complex care situations, teaching students to establish and preserve a therapeutic alliance with patients, conduct clinical assessments, make evidence-based decisions, and manage care teams across hospital, community, and long-term care settings. The Formation Initiale pathway, for students holding a general DEC, is a 107-credit, three-year program delivered under a cooperative regime with paid summer internships, clinical placements, and a choice between critical care or community health concentrations. The Formation Integree pathway, for holders of a DEC in nursing, requires 72 credits plus 18 recognized equivalencies under a regular full-time regime, with two specialization blocks offering options such as geriatrics, mental health, oncology, pediatrics, or research. Both pathways are full-time only. The program suits students moving directly from a science DEC into nursing as well as licensed practical nurses seeking to advance their qualifications and scope of practice.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: For the initial-formation pathway, applicants need a DEC in Sciences of Nature (200.B1), Sciences, Letters and Arts (700.A1), or the International Baccalaureate (200.Z1); alternatively, a university certificate or 30 completed credits qualifies provided the applicant has passed one biology course (cellular biology, human biology, or anatomy and physiology), general chemistry, chemistry of solutions, and one physics course. Selection is based on annual intake capacity and the cote de rendement au collegial, though no minimum figure is published. All candidates must show CEFR level C1 French proficiency (score of at least 500 out of 699) across all four competencies, or obtain a dispensation. Admitted students must supply immunization documentation, obtain an OIIQ (nursing order) registration certificate by their first trimester, and have no course failures before starting clinical placements; international students in the cooperative regime must also provide permanent-residency documentation. The integrated DEC-BAC pathway instead requires a DEC in nursing care (180.A0 or 180.B0) with current or pending OIIQ registration, under the same French requirement.

Application Deadline:Domestic (Quebec and other Canadian) applicants apply directly to Universite de Sherbrooke: for full-time undergraduate programmes the Winter 2027 deadline is 1 November 2026 and the Fall 2027 deadline is 1 March 2027, with later dates for part-time study. International applicants must apply earlier for visa processing, with a Fall 2027 deadline of 15 January 2027; the equivalent Winter international deadline (1 June) falls the preceding year, so Winter 2027 international applications closed 1 June 2026. The School of Management and Faculty of Education publish their own program-specific dates that are actually later (more time to apply) than the general undergraduate dates, while the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences uses earlier dates for most of its M.D. admission categories. None of these are described as rolling; they are published as firm final deadlines. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
