Graduate Diploma in Accounting Sciences

This graduate diploma (DESS) prepares holders of an accredited bachelor's degree in accounting for professional practice and for the Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) admission process. The 30-credit, second-cycle program runs over three trimesters (fall, winter, summer) and is delivered in person, with courses offered during the day and in the evening. The curriculum covers financial reporting, management accounting, audit and certification, taxation, strategy, governance, and finance, combining mandatory courses in professional ethics, taxation, financial accounting, and management accounting with optional advanced courses. Three practice sittings of the Common Final Examination (CFE) are integrated into the program, each followed by personalized feedback. Class sizes are kept small, at roughly 25 students at the Levis campus and 15 at the Rimouski campus. Graduates are positioned for roles such as financial analyst, auditor, management accountant, taxation specialist, and consultant, and the diploma satisfies the academic requirement for CPA candidacy under Quebec's professional code.
