The 240-credit programme combines 56 credits of general studies with 184 credits of specialty subjects and internships focused on East Asian or Scandinavian regional studies. A major language component runs through six semesters, totalling 42 credits, with students choosing their regional language in the first semester and reaching at least B2 level by completion. Teaching methods include individual and group projects, case studies, document and video analysis, thematic debates, reflection diaries, and a learning portfolio, and assessment combines continuous coursework with a final examination or defence of independent work that must contribute at least 30 percent of the overall grade, all marked on a ten-point scale. Learning outcomes include describing the origin and development of the region's traditional and modern cultures, collecting and classifying primary and secondary sources in the regional language, conducting qualitative and quantitative research, and proposing solutions to problems arising from the region's cultural, social, and political processes.
