Overview
General Science is a three-year Bachelor of Science at Lakehead University offering a multidisciplinary curriculum across ten departments: Anthropology, Biology, Chemistry, Computer Science, Economics, Geography, Mathematical Sciences, Geology, Sustainability Sciences, and Physics. The fifteen-course program groups study into four subfields: Life Sciences, Environmental Science & Policy, Physical Science & Mathematics, and Technology. Five credits must come from the Faculty of Science and Environmental Studies, such as Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or Calculus, and no more than four of the fifteen courses may be taken outside specific faculties. Students gain hands-on lab experience using facilities including the LUCAS Lab, Science Workshop, and GIS Research Lab. A joint Bachelor of Science/Bachelor of Education degree option in Native Education is also available. The program is delivered on campus at the Thunder Bay and Orillia campuses.

Admission Requirements: Ontario high school applicants need the Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD) with a minimum of six Grade 12U or M courses and a minimum 70% overall final average. Program-specific prerequisites are English plus two of Advanced Functions, Biology, Calculus & Vectors, Chemistry, Data Management, Earth & Space Science, or Physics.
