Program details
Overview
The Environmental Solutions program at Laurentian University combines environmental science, Indigenous knowledge, and the social sciences to address biodiversity loss, climate change, and environmental sustainability. Students complete a capstone research project tackling a real environmental challenge, gain practical experience through project work and an internship placement, and work with local communities to develop solutions. The program is delivered jointly with Cambrian College: students complete their third year at Cambrian, and on graduation earn both a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Solutions from Laurentian and a Graduate Certificate in Environmental Control from Cambrian. The program is supported by the Vale Living with Lakes Centre, the School of Natural Sciences, the Climate Risk Institute, and Laurentian's Nature Positive University membership. The degree is completed over four years of full-time study on campus, including the year at Cambrian.
