MA/MS in Performance: Piano (M.Mus.)

The Master of Music (M.Mus.) in Performance: Piano is a thesis-based program offered by the Schulich School of Music. It trains advanced pianists through an integrated piano course involving all studios, combining performance training with humanities-based scholarship, and prepares students for further study or professional careers. Students have access to a range of recital options, including solo and chamber music performance, sound recording, and interdisciplinary projects, as well as opportunities in chamber music. Many students receive funding. Faculty members perform internationally and have experience teaching, coaching, and adjudicating across a range of solo, chamber, and concerto repertoires. The Schulich School of Music provides performance spaces, research and production laboratories, and two music libraries. Admission requires an eligible bachelor's degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale and English-language proficiency. The program admits students in the Fall term, with an application deadline of December 1 for both international and domestic applicants.
