Bachelor of Science

The Bachelor of Science is a four-year degree offered through Portage College in partnership with Athabasca University, covering majors ranging from mathematics to architecture-related sciences. Students split coursework between on-site classes at Portage College and online classes delivered by Athabasca University, following a multi-access learning model. The program lets students complete science-major coursework locally while earning an Athabasca-conferred degree. Intakes run in fall, winter and spring. Admission from high school requires a minimum average of 60%, with no mark below 50%, in English Language Arts 30-1 and four other Grade 12-level courses drawn from humanities, fine arts, sciences or electives. Mature applicants 19 or older who have been out of high school for at least one year qualify under the same average. International applicants are assessed on transcripts and may need to complete a Grade 12 English proficiency exam and subject-area proficiency exams.
