This master's program (Maitre es sciences) in chemistry comprises 45 credits, delivered on the Sherbrooke main campus under regular or partnership study regimes, full-time or part-time. It offers four tracks: a research track, admitting in fall, winter and summer; and three coursework tracks admitting in fall only, in nanomaterials and advanced characterization, organic synthesis and pharmaceutical chemistry, and analytical and instrumental sciences. The program deepens students' knowledge of chemistry and begins specialization within a chosen sector. The research track (36 required credits, including a seminar, two research-activity courses and a thesis, plus 6 to 9 elective credits) introduces students to research, advances their fundamental knowledge through advanced coursework, and familiarizes them with the practical tasks of research, including planning experimental work, following the literature and interpreting results. The nanomaterials track (18 required and 27 elective credits) deepens knowledge of nanomaterials science through a multidisciplinary approach and advanced characterization techniques.
