This programme builds the knowledge and skills needed to understand, analyse, and evaluate how political systems function. Graduates know the main theories and concepts of political science along with key political and historical facts about Lithuania and other states, understand the rules governing political institutions and international organisations, and can collect, synthesise, and independently evaluate empirical political data. The first two years cover foundational courses such as economics and classical and modern political theory, after which students choose one of three third-year tracks: global politics, for those drawn to international relations and diplomacy; politics and society, for domestic political processes; or politics and economics, followed by a fourth year combining an internship, an elective, and a final thesis. Teaching mixes lecture-based analysis of practical problems with group work, simulation games, and audiovisual material, and assessment relies mainly on written or oral examinations graded on a ten-point scale. Graduates can pursue careers as policy analysts, project managers, or specialists in international, state, or non-governmental organisations, or continue to master's study in the social sciences and humanities.
