BSc (Hons) Energy Systems and Sustainability

This honours degree gives students a broad undergraduate foundation in energy systems, with sustainability and climate-change awareness built into the curriculum rather than bolted on as an afterthought. The programme is pitched at high-demand emerging industries that need graduates comfortable applying sustainability thinking to practical engineering decisions. Students are expected to draw on a pool of knowledge and resources to apply sustainability principles to real decisions, with an eye toward contributing to the sustainable development of the wider community. Teaching combines lectures, tutorials, project work, laboratory sessions, group work, seminars and an industrial placement, delivered mainly in English with some modules taught in French; the final dissertation must be written in English. Entry requires three A-level subjects plus one subsidiary subject at HSC level (or an equivalent such as a London GCE), and the honours route runs three years full time under the standard full-degree pathway.
