General Description: Objective(s) of a study programme: The study programme International Hospitality Management is designed to prepare students to assume management positions in the international hospitality industry. The programme will provide comprehensive knowledge of management of operations and activities of the hospitality business and tools for business development, help to develop sense of social responsibility and cultural awareness, to train desired skills of creative and constructive way of thinking, to be combined with professional knowledge and be applied in practice of a wide array of professional activities in the hospitality industry. Learning outcomes: General and subject competences are reflected in the structure of the intended programme of study, the learning outcomes include such competences as: to accept and follow the principles of social responsibility and ethics in professional activities and self-expression; to communicate and cooperate in a constructive manner with professionals and people groups from various fields of life in order to address current issues and future possibilities of development of hospitality organisation; to be responsible for the results and quality of work either working in a team or individually; to demonstrate multicultural self-awareness when acting in the hospitality industry and dealing with issues related to business or hospitality service quality improvement; to creatively apply the knowledge of social sciences, management and professional knowledge, entrepreneurial and project management skills in order to respond to new trends and challenges in the competitive market; to apply practical skills and monitor the functional activities of the hotel/restaurant infrastructure or its elements, to analyse and assess the effectiveness of operational functions of the system, to describe and develop processional maps using appropriate analytical methods and modern information technology tools; to make decisions and formulate economically justified proposals in order to improve management functions; to consider changing needs of the organisation and customers when planning hospitality services and their revision; to foster customer relations through integrating customer experience design management system, planning marketing and event activities designed to meet the expectations of local and international customers; to plan financial matters in a responsible manner and prepare forward-looking proposals in terms of financial future opportunities of the hospitality organisation. Activities of teaching and learning: To promote students’ active participation in the study process, the International Hospitality Management study programme in the field of Management studies, will apply a variety of student-cantered teaching methods that are designed and be applied to help students to achieve the learning outcomes; to provide knowledge, but as well desirable by employers skills that enable to prepare students for independent professional career. The teaching-learning process will go using such active teaching methods as: project/problem-based teaching, involving lectures, teaching in small groups, counselling, literature studies, guest lectures, film screenings, case studies, round table discussions, etc. To develop practical skills, the special attention will be given to the assignments like projects and practical tasks. Methods of assessment of learning achievements: The student’s academic achievement assessment system consists of collegial and cumulative assessment. Collegiate assessment will be used to ensure the objectivity of the assessment and to provide opportunity to develop communication skills. Collegiate assessment in the International Hospitality Management study programme will be used for the defense of projects and thesis. During the peer assessment, students will be examined or the projects will be defended in front of a group of professors or their assistants and social partners. The cumulative assessment will be applied in the International Hospitality Management study Programme with the purpose to encourage students be proactive during the study time; to eliminate plagiarism when completion of certain type of tasks are focused on theoretical knowledge. Applying cumulative assessment, the course professor has a better chance to monitor students’ performance and progress through the course time; to apply a greater variety of assessment methods. The cumulative assessment will be applied in case of examination, only when it will form just a portion of total task to be assessed. Some other assessments will be made at the choice of the course professor, who will be assessing various written works (e.g. project work or independent work), other practical tasks that allow students to demonstrate their theoretic and practical competencies acquired during their studies. The assessment will be based on a ten-point scale. The assessment criteria will be aligned to the outcomes of the study programme and the subject, and the relevance of the subject studied. The structure of the cumulative mark will be set out in the description of each course. Practicum - 30 credits: Practicum will take place in a selected organization of hospitality industry for 20 weeks (30 kr.) Final project - 12 credits. Electives - 9 credits Specialisations: - Optional courses: Students are given the opportunity to enhance their professional knowledge and practical skills by choosing subjects from the list of elective courses (LPD) (Annex X). The International Hospitality Management study programme provides opportunity to choose two free elective subjects, which are integrated into semester III (5 credits) and semester IV (4 credits). By choosing a subject from the list of free electives, students will be able to acquire additional competences in their chosen field of the hospitality sector (MICE and event organising, development of new tourism products, franchising in the hospitality business, etc.). The proposed LPDs are a significant addition to the International Hospitality Management study programme, it opens up wider opportunities for students to gain a broader understanding of specific activities and work duties within the hospitality sector, to take into consideration their personal learning objectives and priorities, to facilitate their choice and planning of career paths. Distinctive features of a study programme: The programme has been developed in close cooperation with EHL (Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne - the world's highest ranked hospitality management university, which has been training hospitality professionals for more than 125 years). VVK has been consistently guided by EHL's recommendations, in order to develop a unique International Hospitality Management study programme adapted to the needs of the countries of the Baltic Sea Region and the VVKs in order to train highly qualified hospitality managers. The distinctive features of the study programme include:  Innovative teaching methods - active, student-centered, involving learning, such as project-based learning, problem-based learning, case studies, discussions, real practical activities with strong feedback. All of them will aim to encourage students' initiative, independent learning and responsibility;  the study classes will take place in the environment of the high ranked hotels and restaurants that have premises adapted to the training purpose;  to complete practical assignments of the course, students will have an excellent opportunity to apply knowledge and acquired competencies in a real life situations working side by side with professionals and interacting with them on a day to day basis;  in the 5th semester of studies, students will undertake a compulsory (20 weeks long) internship working and taking various duties in top-category hotels and their departments;  the course will be taught exclusively in English (min. Objective(s) of a study programme: The aim of the study programme is to prepare qualified specialists in artificial intelligence technologies who possess fundamental knowledge of computer science and data science and are able to design, develop, implement, and evaluate artificial intelligence solutions by applying machine learning, data analysis, systems development, and cloud computing methods to address the challenges of organizational and societal digitalization, process automation, and data-driven decision-making. Learning outcomes: Graduates will be able to: 1. Explain the fundamentals of computer science and data science, including the principles of algorithm design and analysis, data structures, programming paradigms, software system development methods, as well as theoretical concepts and methods of artificial intelligence, typical stages of the software life cycle and methods of software development and maintenance. 2. Explain methods of data collection, processing, and analysis, systems modelling and artificial intelligence, their application possibilities, limitations and evaluation criteria, and understand the principles of training and testing artificial intelligence models. 3. Analyze information systems and artificial intelligence tasks, perform data analysis and model systems and processes and apply machine learning and deep learning methods to solve natural language processing, computer vision and other tasks. 4. Design artificial intelligence solutions and their architecture, select appropriate algorithms, optimization methods, technologies and platforms, and develop conceptual system models. 5. Develop, test and implement artificial intelligence solutions, apply machine learning, image and language processing algorithms, integrate artificial intelligence solutions into information systems and use cloud computing and distributed systems technologies. 6. These methods are designed to support the achievement of learning outcomes, provide not only knowledge but also develop learning skills and prepare students for independent professional practice. During the studies, the following teaching and learning activities will be used: problem-based teaching, case studies, project-based work, individual assignments, work in small groups, interactive lectures, demonstrations, pair programming, algorithm visualization, viewing video lectures, self-assessment tests, reflection, guest lectures, field lectures and others. Methods of assessment of learning achievements: To ensure active student engagement throughout the study period, the ability to apply theoretical knowledge in practice and objective assessment of learning outcomes, continuous (cumulative) assessment is applied in the Artificial Intelligence Technologies study programme. The assessment is based on a ten-point grading scale, in which achievement levels are classified as excellent, typical, and threshold. Within the framework of cumulative assessment, learning outcomes are evaluated through intermediate assessments. Each course syllabus specifies the assessment components, their weight in the final grade, as well as the content, criteria and requirements of particular assessment tasks. The study of a course is completed with either an examination or the assessment of an independently completed student assignment. The final grade consists of the cumulative assessment components defined in the course syllabus (e.g., intermediate assessments, independent or project work, examination, etc.) with their percentage weight determined in the course description. General Description: Objective(s) of a study programme: To prepare qualified cybersecurity specialists capable of developing and implementing secure software, exploring new applications of computer systems, and designing effective data and information processing solutions aimed at protecting organizational data and digital assets from cyber threats by applying artificial intelligence solutions, cloud computing platforms, and data analysis tools. Learning outcomes: Graduates will be able to: 1. Demonstrate knowledge of algorithm design and analysis principles, programming paradigms, languages and technologies, data processing and analysis, systems modeling and optimization, as well as concepts and methods of artificial intelligence, the typical stages of the software lifecycle, and methods for software development and maintenance; 2. Understand the theoretical foundations of cybersecurity, including the principles of computer networks, operating systems, programming, and cryptography; 3. Apply technologies for network, software, and data protection, as well as incident management, to safeguard the organization's digital infrastructure; 4. Apply artificial intelligence and machine learning methods to solve cybersecurity problems; 5. Analyze the needs and architecture of an organization's information systems, identify security risks and vulnerabilities, define requirements for secure systems, and design reliable information systems that meet business security needs; 6. General Description: Objective(s) of a study programme: The goal of the study programme is to prepare a specialist, who is able to create media platforms, computer games, attractive online information systems; who has professional programming skills, the knowledge of principals of human-computer interaction, computer audio and video processing, who would have the basics of creative visual thinking. Such specialist can work as a programmer or as a developer-designer at any company, which creates computer games, develops and (or) uses media technologies either on his/her own or by establishing his/her company as well as being a part of an IT team in any IT company. Learning outcomes: Having finished Media and Computer Games study programme, graduates will have acquired the skills of problem solving, interactive media systems, computer game creation, will understand business processes and their management, project management, business communication and in one‘s practical activities will be able to: • to apply information technologies to practical tasks.; • to understand the creation and protection rules of data structures and to develop new data structures. • to analyze and develop information processing algorithms; • to develop, test, and combine programs by using structured and object-oriented programming principles • to develop and use databases; • to create interactive web sites or their interactive elements; • to apply computer graphics and information visualization principles for an effective development of media systems; • to use audio and video processing technology; • to combine 2D and 3D graphics and animation technologies for the development of multimedia systems; • to program interactive games by using the existing tools and libraries; • to create, modify and adapt 3D models and other components of a computer game, to apply animation to game models’ and characters' movements. Activities of teaching and learning: Vilnius Business College creates a distinctive learning and teaching environment and implements innovative teaching methods. The recently-implemented Project-based teaching method aims to develop students’ skills such as leadership, entrepreneurship, team-work, time planning and finance management, etc. A great deal of learning activities will be organized using College virtual learning environment, new ICT technologies, and social media. Students will have lectures and seminars in psychology, team-work, effective work and study methods as well as time planning conducted by professional lecturers and experienced practitioners. In the second year of studies practice is carried out in a business enterprise, practical assignments and practice venue will be agreed upon among a student, an enterprise and a practical training supervisor. In the third year the final practice, whose aim is to enhance and develop the professional skills gained, will be carried out in an enterprise; during this practical training data pertaining to the object of the final thesis / project will also be collected, and practical training will be directly related to the topic analyzed by the student. General description: Aim(s) of the study programme: To prepare specialists that are able to design and create interactive elements of media, applying knowledge of digital sound and video, information visualization, animation, design and programming, to cooperate in projects of creating media products, to think creatively and critically, to adapt to ever evolving and fast changing technologies and market conditions. Study outcomes: Specialists of IM study programme will acquire skills of problem solving, creating interactive elements of media, will understand busines processes and their management, project management, subject communication and will be able to practically apply the following things: • apply information (computer, mobile, NFC, etc.) technologies in solving practical tasks, • apply basic principles of programming when creating interactive products of media, • create and integrate media products for various information media, • work in a team by developing projects of creative and interactive media from the idea initiation till product implementation and quality self-assessment, • communicate in writing and speaking on various subject issues of information and communication technologies in state and foreign languages, • create new business subjects, develop present activities, manage them by adapting to market changes, observe ethical norms, • think creatively and critically, adapt to ever evolving and fast changing information and communication technologies as well as market conditions, • organize and plan activities, work independently and in a team, understand responsibility for the decisions made. Activities of teaching and learning: Vilnius Business College creates an exceptional learning environment, implements innovative methods of teaching and learning. Project-based learning aims to educate such skills as leadership, entrepreneurship, teamwork, planning, finance management, etc. A part of educational activities will be implemented by using virtual learning environment, new ICT technologies. Students will have lectures of psichology, teamwork, effective work organization methods as well as time management, given by professional teachers and consultants. Methods of assessment of study achievements: In order to assess study achievements, a proportional criterion-based cumulative assessment system is applied (cumulative assessment) defined in the Regulations of studies, which together with other study documents related to study processes is publicly available at http://kolegija.lt/lt//studijos/studiju-dokumentai/86. Assessment is based on a ten-grade scale provided in the procedure of VBC study outcomes assessment. Criteria of assessment is selected according to the outcomes of the study programme and subject and intended learning outcomes. The structure of cumulative grade is provided in the descriptor of each subject and will be presented to students during the first lecture. Methods of assessing students‘ achievements like test, examination, project work will encourage students to understand their strengths and weaknesses, to evaluate their own level of achievement. In the programme prepared by Vilnius Business College „Interactive Media“ more attention is given not to designing multimedia products but to creation of various media elements and integration to various information media by using the knowledge of digital image and sound, information visualization, animation, design and programming. This programme belongs to the study field of Informatics. Professional activities and further study: Professional activities: The first internship, teaching internship of Computer graphics and modelling takes place in the College. The second year internship takes place in a business company, practical assignments and location will be aligned with a student, company and internship superviser. The final internship in the third year, whose aim is to enhance and develop professional skills gained in the specific business environment, will be carried out in a company or in the College; during this internship data about the object of the final thesis / project and practice will be collected and will have a direct relationship to the topic analyzed by a student in the final thesis. General Description: Objective(s) of a study programme: The main goal of the programme is to prepare qualified specialists, who are able to execute different tasks in fields of internet systems development and management, maintenance of hardware and installation of software, network infrastructure usage. Specialists also will be able to manage IT companies tasks and processes, will be able succesfully to adapt to current labour market situation. Learning outcomes: Graduates of Programming and Internet Technologies study programme will be specialists who will have deep skills of problem solving, software development and maintenance, will understand design of information systems, IT business processes and management, project management and business communication. Specialists in their practical activities will be able to: •to apply the knowledge of data structures, algorithm, internet technologies, structured and object-oriented programming while solving problems of a range of complexity in programming and creating interface; •to apply the knowledge of hardware and software of personal computer in choosing appropriate tools for specific professional operations, for diagnosing problems in breakdowns, for planning updates, and maintaining safe funcioning; •to effectively use services of both local and global computer networks; •to analyse data, to select appropriate data structures, and design algorithms for information processing; •to design and develop graphical user interfaces, relying on the knowledge of raster and vector graphics and visual progrmming; •to design, construct and test data bases in different programming environments that guarantee interaction between human and computer; •to design, construct, test and debug programming products of different complexity. Activities of teaching and learning: Vilnius Business College creates a distinctive learning and teaching environment and implements innovative teaching methods. The recently-implemented Project-based teaching method aims to develop students’ skills such as leadership, entrepreneurship, team-work, time planning and finance management, etc. A great deal of learning activities will be organized using College virtual learning environment, new ICT technologies, and social media. Distinctive features of a study programme: There will be used two unique methods for the implementation of this study programme – project based learning and targeted practical preparation. In the third year the final practice, whose aim is to enhance and develop the professional skills gained, will be carried out in an enterprise; during this practical training data pertaining to the object of the final thesis / project will also be collected, and practical training will be directly related to the topic analyzed by the student. Activities of teaching and learning: The study program is based on the Team Academy methodology and the principles of modular teaching, aiming to bring the learning process closer to real business creation and management experience. The program is organized in a modular structure, where subjects are divided into thematic blocks. Each module is closely related to practical tasks that allow students to immediately apply the knowledge gained in a real business context. During their studies, students work in real businesses that they create themselves. Various active learning methods are used to encourage student engagement, independence, and creativity: project-based learning, team tasks, action learning, solving real business problems by applying acquired knowledge and reflecting on the learning experience, problem-based learning (PBL), mentorship and coaching, reflection and self-analysis, and Design Thinking methods. Methods of assessment of learning achievements: A cumulative assessment and a ten-point grading system are applied. With cumulative assessment, study results are evaluated through intermediate assessments. Study course programs specify the structural elements of assessment, their weight in the final evaluation, the content of specific assessment tasks, criteria, and requirements. Each course concludes with either an exam or an evaluation of an independently completed student assignment. The final grade consists of the components of cumulative assessment defined in the course program (e.g., intermediate assessments, independent work, exam), with their percentage distribution determined within the study course program. Considering above actions, cumulative assessment is used with a ten point grading system. The study of each subject culminates in an examination. Students shall demonstrate the results achieved in the program by means of a final thesis. The assessment of the learning outcomes of the program is carried out throughout the semester and during the examination session by means of cumulative assessment. The results of the studies are assessed during the semester by means of mid-term examinations: control work, individual and group project work, tests, case studies, information retrieval and systematization, discussions, independent creative tasks, seminars, coursework, practical reports, examinations, final thesis. Framework: Course units (modules), practical training: According to the general requirements, the Business development and entrepreneurship program consists of 180 credits of general college subjects. 138 credits are allocated to the study of the core subjects of the specialization, of which 30 credits are allocated to the educational and final professional practice and 12 credits to the final thesis. The aim is to develop the abilities to analyse financial indicators, assess the business environment at the national and international levels, and contribute to the sustainable growth of organisations by implementing the principles of financial management and investment. Learning outcomes: 1. Will analyse the business environment, apply business management principles and financial indicators in order to make well-founded decisions in business organisations. 2. Will evaluate the financial condition of a company by applying financial statement analysis methods and accounting principles. 3. Students are not limited to acquiring theoretical knowledge: they apply methods of financial planning, investment evaluation, and risk analysis in practice, modelling solutions for real business situations. One of the distinctive elements of the study programme is Financial Decision Modelling and Project-Based Activities, which incorporates Design Thinking, Business Model Canvas, and digital analytics methods. During their studies, students develop practical projects that they present to lecturers, business mentors, and partners. The study programme is focused on the practical development of financial entrepreneurship, the ability to create value through innovative solutions, and to lead team processes in a dynamic financial environment.
