Overview
Professional Helicopter Piloting is an AEC continuing-education program at Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy, delivered in partnership with the Attitude Hélicoptère flight school over two sessions at its Neuville facility near the main campus. The program prepares students for commercial helicopter flight work toward a Transport Canada professional pilot licence, covering operational and situational piloting tasks, emergency and daytime flight procedures, safe transport of cargo and passengers under aviation regulations, wilderness emergency management, and aeronautical English. Cohorts are limited to a small number of students, with access to the main campus's sports facilities, library and student services alongside flight training. It suits candidates who are meticulous, cautious, strong in observation and analysis, disciplined and able to work autonomously, without vertigo. Admission requires passing Transport Canada's Category 1 medical examination and having appropriate prior schooling or qualifying experience such as a study interruption, employer sponsorship or a DEP. Graduates typically move into helicopter transport, flight instruction, resource-sector or emergency-response flying roles.

Admission Requirements: Admission to the AEC in Pilotage professionnel d'helicoptere at Campus Notre-Dame-de-Foy requires the applicant to pass the medical examinations set by Transport Canada in order to hold a Category 1 Medical Certificate. Candidates must also hold training judged sufficient by the college, together with one of three further conditions: having interrupted full-time studies, or having pursued full-time post-secondary studies for at least two consecutive sessions or one school year; being covered by an agreement between the college and an employer, or benefiting from a government programme; or holding a Diplome d'etudes professionnelles (DEP). No minimum grade, average, or English/French language-proficiency test is published; French is the language of instruction. The 810-hour, two-session programme admits a cohort of 14 students per intake and is offered in both the fall and winter sessions.

International applicants are admitted for the Fall intake only, with applications due by 15 February 2027 for most countries and by 30 April 2027 for French nationals; no winter intake is offered internationally, and CNDF publishes no distinct domestic winter-round dates beyond noting winter admission exists. These are institution-wide dates; this programme publishes no deadline of its own.
