Techniques de gestion et d'intervention en loisir is a three-year technical DEC that trains professionals to plan, organize and lead recreation activities across cultural, event, sports, recreational and social settings. The program develops three groups of competencies: planning, meaning analyzing clients and recreation trends and designing activities and programs; organizing, meaning running events, managing financial, human and material resources, and promotion; and acting, meaning facilitating activities and meetings, supervising staff, and reading recreation situations on the ground. Students work with a range of target groups, including children, teens, adults, older adults and people with particular needs, and complete supervised internships that include working with older adults, leading inclusive recreation for clients with particular needs, and organizing a socially impactful event. The program's page notes an accelerated DEC option that lets students who already hold a DEC complete the program in two years instead of three on a condensed schedule. The program suits students who prefer active, hands-on fieldwork over classroom-based study and who want to work directly with varied client groups.

Admission Requirements: This three-year Technique program is non-quota: applications that meet its conditions are generally admitted. It states no course prerequisite of its own beyond Cégep de Saint-Laurent's general conditions applied for through SRAM: a DES; a DEP plus 5th-secondary language of instruction, 5th-secondary second language and 4th-secondary mathematics; or judged-equivalent training. Across every program at the Cégep, school-record quality is the main selection criterion: for secondary-school applicants that means 4th- and 5th-secondary results as they stand when they apply, and college-level results count too for anyone who has already attended a cégep.
