Program details

Overview

Biological Science is a Bachelor of Science (Honours) offered by Ontario Tech University's Faculty of Science. Delivered on campus on a full-time basis, with September and January starts, the program runs four years, or five years with the direct-entry co-op option. The curriculum satisfies course requirements for the MCAT and for applying to professional programs in medicine, pharmacy and dentistry, combining lab-based coursework in small sessions with hands-on experiential learning in experimentation and data analysis. Students can complete the general Honours program or specialize in Applied Biotechnology, Biomedical Science, Environmental Biology or Marine Biology; the Marine Biology specialization includes a semester abroad at the Bermuda Institute of Ocean Sciences. In their upper years, students may instead pursue the five-year Bachelor of Science and Management (Honours) option, which adds coursework in finance, accounting, operations, project management and marketing alongside the science curriculum. The co-op option provides full-time paid work terms throughout the degree.
