SAIT's Pre-employment Recreation Vehicle Service Technician certificate is a 16-week, full-time program that prepares students to install, repair, and maintain interior and exterior components on recreational vehicles such as motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth-wheel trailers, truck campers, tent trailers, and van conversions. Students learn to perform pre-delivery inspections, troubleshoot using computerized and electronic diagnostic tools, dismantle and repair structural, plumbing, and electrical components, service propane gas and AC/DC electrical systems, build cabinets, and service appliances including fridges, ranges, and heaters. The curriculum also covers communicating with supervisors, manufacturers, and customers, including writing repair estimates and handling repair orders. Recreation vehicle service technician is a compulsory trade in Alberta, and the program aligns with the apprenticeship model, blending theoretical and practical learning across aspects of 27 related certified trades. Graduates are prepared to work as apprentices or return for further apprenticeship training periods. Classes are delivered in person at SAIT's Point Trotter Campus. This program does not accept international applicants.
