This program leads to a Master of Human Resource Management (MHRM), a graduate degree completed full-time or part-time over four terms and designed for professionals who already hold a foundation in HR. Students explore organizational change and development, labour relations, strategic compensation, international HR, and how HR policies and practices affect employee and organizational performance. The curriculum builds on prior coursework toward the CHRP designation and practical HR experience, extending it with graduate-level study of contemporary human resource management issues. York also offers a PhD in Human Resource Management for students pursuing research careers, combining quantitative and qualitative methods training with pedagogical preparation for academic positions. The MHRM suits HR practitioners seeking to advance into senior-level roles through further credentialing, while the PhD suits those aiming for research or teaching careers in the field.
