Overview

The Master of Industrial Relations (MIR) at Queen's University, offered through Employment Relations Studies, is a full-time, on-campus graduate degree completed in 10 to 12 months. Established in 1983, the program has produced more than 1,000 graduates and prepares students for careers in labour relations, human resources management, applied and policy-oriented research, and teaching or consulting in labour and human resources. Students gain grounding in labour relations and human resources practice, employment relationships and organizational behaviour, the laws governing individual employment and collective bargaining, and the collection, analysis, and interpretation of workplace research data, alongside professional skills in leadership, consulting, facilitation, coaching, team building, and communication.
