Overview
The Baccalauréat en études de l'environnement is a 90-credit bachelor's degree at Université de Sherbrooke's Centre universitaire de formation en environnement et développement durable, leading to the degree of Bachelière or bachelier en études de l'environnement. The programme trains professionals to take a systemic view of environmental issues, manage environmental projects, and contribute to designing and implementing concrete actions for the socio-ecological transition. Graduates learn to situate an environmental issue within the socio-ecological system, diagnose environmental problems, design solutions such as approaches, action plans, or tools to prevent or mitigate human impacts on the environment, manage environmental projects, and inform and educate others about environmental issues. The programme is offered in a general pathway or an integrated bachelor's-master's pathway with the Maîtrise en environnement, and runs under a mandatory co-operative (work-study) full-time study regime, with admission at the Fall and Winter terms at the Sherbrooke main campus.
Requirements
Admission Requirements: Applicants must meet Université de Sherbrooke's general admission condition for 1st-cycle (undergraduate) programmes, hold a Diplôme d'études collégiales (DEC), and have passed a college-level mathematics course. Applicants holding a technical DEC should consult the university's DEC-to-bachelor's pathway conditions. All admitted students must demonstrate a strong command of French, either through an exemption or by reaching level C1 (a score of 500/699 or higher across all four core skills) on a test recognized by the university. The programme runs under a mandatory full-time co-operative (work-study) study regime.
