BA/BS in Information Systems Technology

This programme trains specialists to analyse and define user needs and to assess, design, implement and administer computer systems and networks, including their security. Core subjects run from algorithmisation, discrete mathematics and applied physics through database administration, computer architecture, cloud technologies and cybersecurity to business information systems and information systems engineering. Students choose between a networks specialisation covering network programming, network operating systems and network technology security, or a business systems specialisation covering web services, business process modelling and business data analytics. Twenty weeks of practice build toward a graduation placement, and teaching combines lectures, workshops and self-study tasks assessed through a criteria-based ten-point scheme. Graduates can install, maintain and administer computer networks and business systems, applying relevant standards and project management methods, and work professionally in both state and foreign languages with specialists in interdisciplinary teams.
